My Mother Grace took me to the Golden Chicken Inn in 1951, I was 7 years old then. That was 66 years ago. my wife and I were there Sunday 8-27-2017. We ordered the number 1 combo which is always delicious and plentiful. The meal for both of us was 15 dollars. The service was great and the staffing very nice and friendly. The cleanliness of the restaurant was incredibly clean. This restaurant has been open at this location since 1929 in Oxnard and it has a lot of history to it. For me this restaurant has got to be the best Chinese restaurant.in Ventura County. It is located upstairs in the building on the corner of Oxnard Blvd and Seventh St in Old Downtown Oxnard. One goes back in time when you visit this place.

My favorite Chinese food place.. The food is the best. There are only 2 servers that have been there forever, but even with a full restaurant they're speedy. My mom has been going to this place since she was a teen, The servers remember her and always know what she'll order. I've noticed she's not the only 'known' customer. Gotta love a place that takes care to remember their customers!

Reasonable prices for properly authentic Chinese food. I love ordering their BBQ pork as it is almost the same as you would have in a proper Chinatown or in China in general. If you want Chinese food and not Chinese fusion, this is the place to go.
